Join travel lover and retired nurse Celeste Brown as she recounts her adventures with wildlife and natural diversity on her quest to visit each of the 150 Illinois State Parks! Swedish Heritage
Hjemkomst Viking ship on display.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 6 • 1–2 P.M.
Robert Asp, a Minnesota junior high school guidance counselor, dreamed of building and sailing a Viking ship to honor his Norwegian heritage. His ultimate goal was to sail the vessel all the way to Norway. When illness prevented him from completing his vision, his children—and the entire town—joined together to fulfill his dream. Tom Asp, Robert’s son, will share this touching and inspiring story of perseverance, family, and community spirit—a powerful reminder of how dreams can live on through the love and dedication of others.
This program is in partnership with the Friends of the Viking Ship and Geneva Public Library.

Preserving by the Pint
If most canning recipes seem to yield too much for your small kitchen, Preserving by the Pint has smaller--but no less delicious--batches to offer. Working with a quart, a pound, a pint, or a bunch of produce, not a bushel, allows for dabbling in preserving without committing a whole shelf to storing a single type of jam.
