Winter Sports
by Oksana Masters
The Hard Parts
An inspirational and powerful memoir from the United States’s most decorated winter Paralympic or Olympic athlete, The Hard Parts is Oksana Masters’s gripping account of overcoming extraordinary Chernobyl disaster–caused physical challenges to create a life that challenges everyone to push through what is holding them back.

by Mark Synnott
The Third Pole
Climber Mark Synnott blends history, adventure, and personal journey in this gripping account of one of the world’s greatest mountaineering mysteries. Drawn to Mount Everest by the unanswered question of whether George Mallory and Sandy Irvine—the British climbers who vanished near the summit in 1924—might have succeeded in reaching the top decades before Hillary and Norgay, Synnott embarks on his own high‑stakes expedition in 2019. Along the way, he faces deadly weather, crowded routes, political challenges, and the raw extremes of the mountain while exploring what drives humans to risk everything in pursuit of the unknown.

by Deborah Riley Draper
and Travis Thrasher
Olympic Pride
Discover the astonishing, inspirational, and largely unknown true story of the 18 African American athletes who competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, defying the racism of both Nazi Germany and the Jim Crow South.

by Nathan Chen
One Jump at a Time
In this exhilarating memoir, three-time World Champion and Olympic gold-medalist Nathan Chen tells the story of his remarkable journey to success, reflecting on his life as a Chinese American figure skater and the joys and challenges he has experienced—including the tremendous sacrifices he and his family made, and the physical and emotional pain he endured.

by Kayla Olson
The Lodge
From the author of The Reunion, a cozy rom-com about a writer who decamps to a Vermont lodge for work but finds herself distracted by the charming ski instructor next door.

by Wayne Coffey
The Boys of Winter
The true story of the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team and the Miracle on Ice, which Sports Illustrated called the greatest moment in sports history—with a new afterword by Ken Morrow for the fortieth anniversary of the Miracle on Ice.
